S5230 Flash Guide

You should first click "Port Search" and then when the port comes as  S5230[Ready] Then you should click download..

You will get the port as S5230[Ready] only if you have installed the usb drivers for the phone in your PC or laptop...

i have already done with that step ... and it show "ready" but when i click "download", i getting this error :

Try another USB PORT (mean if you have more than one usb in pc, try another one)
and it is needed to have right working phone usb drivers (which could be installed with Samsung New PC STUDIO (or kies))

IT DONT HAVE TO SHOW "READY" but "S5230[Ready]"... !!!

you must be enabled somekind of security.. like PIN lock, SIM lock or something like that, try to disable that first.. CMIIW

I am totally new at this. I have a samsung S5230W and my touch screen is not working anymore. I googled what I could do and there was a suggestion I should flash my phone. So a few hours later I am at this site I have the New PC Studio and the downloader V5.62 and the firmware S5230WPDJE4. But when I try to fill in the downloader it says: can not load amss binary. I can fill in the boot, but for example not the amss or the rsrc1. Can someone help me? I am really finding out how much I depent on my phone...

Looks like you missing many main fw files...
For flashing your phone you will need
- bootfiles
- apps_compressed.bin
- *fw*.rc1
- *fw* (LOW).rc2
- factoryfs.ffs

If you dont have all, dont flash your phone... Search for whole FW pack.

Thanks a lot. I have found firmware S5230WXEIL1 that has almost everything. But it doesn't have amss, and it has apps... Can I install it or not??

You should select apps_compressed.bin in amss option..

The turorial is great!! I downloaded another version of S5230WXEIL1 by one of the given links: http://gsm-data.com/samsung/summary/97/1469.html And the apps did go in the amss this time. Everthing looked good, but then first I got an error over the amss and I thougt wel I try it all over again, maybe I missed something and then I got the following error:

ERR : NAK_VERIFY_FAILED 0
ERR : Boot2 Erase

What should I do?

Did you "port search" before choosing all those items? On your first picture it shows "READY S5233W", that must be shown after choosing all items, too. (choosing items looks without problem)

After I read the very clear tutorial I port searched at the end... but I think there did go something really wrong... I turned my phone off to try it with my sim and it didn't restart anymore. And also when I took my sim out again, starting with the sound, camera and on button, didn't work anymore. I don't know what I did wrong, maybe the firm ware wasn't good? I don't know. I probably have to look out for a new phone But I do think you both gave me good advise, that was not the problem, so thanks!
