i just tried to upgrade my firmware from  S5230XEII2      to  MMGJK2 + apps_patch.bin + patch.rc2 but the phone just freezes on the s5230 splash screen? any one else have this issue

you absolutely can't do that.. you should flash your phone first with MMGJK2 before patch it.. :)

well thats what i did?, i was on one firmware  not running any mods or patches and tried to flash the other so i could patch it but it just freezes, ill have another go lol

ok so got the firmware on and patched it, so how do i get the themes to run as i understand i need gadget.swf and menu.swf in the res folder i created but i cant find the files, ive tried downloading different themes but none have these files?

You may need to rename some of the swf files you find on this forum
e.g android 2.2 by The_poison92, the swf file needs renaming to Gadget.swf
then put that and a menu - inevia is a good start - into Res/Themes
you will also need a myfiles.swf like you get in starhero

I did as per the tutorial and everything was fine till checking the port = COM5 and when I pressed DOWNLOAD  it says Warning : Security fail!!

Download Start Ch[0]
Warring : Security fail!!

Please help
