1) back up the sms to pc...
2)Flash your phone...
3)Now connect your phone in pc studio mode( with sim card inside)
4)open the sms backup through pc studio
5)Copy an Important message 
6)Open Sms sender in the pc suite . paste the message, type your number and send it...again u get ur messages back to your phone :P :P.

Reverse engineering, if not possible from front come from back.:P

P.S: I hope u have message offer for ur simcard.:P

NPS ?? samsung updates it...You can find the updated one if you have registered your mobile on samsung website...;)

There is a patch or MMGJK2: Sms_to_text transforms sms to txt file in you MMC
