How to Make a Boot Screen With Patches [RC2]
« on: July 18, 2010, 09:04:21 AM »
To make a boot screen - with patches - you will need:
  - QuB to make the RC2
  - Photoshop or any other editing program to edit images.

First of all [after you have got the software] You will need to get some patches. As they are not easy to find I will kindly attach my version of QuB with all of the patches for MXEIL2 and some XEII4 Ones. This of QuB is not for XPJB1

Put the patches in the directory like I have Below
EG: C:/....../Desktop/Qub/[Firmware Name]/Patches
Put the patches in that folder, they must be in .smp format.

In Qub folder C:/....../Desktop/Qub there will be a file called QuB.exe, This is Qub and it should work straight out of the box for XP Users. For Windows Seven users, Right Click and click Properties. Change it to run in Compatibility Mode: Windows XP Service Pack 3 and Run as Administrator.

Now open Qub. To make an RC2 for your firmware you will have to navigate to the settings area and change it from the drop down menu.

Now you are ready to go.

Open Photoshop [or any other image editing sowftware, even MSPaint]
Click 'New'
Fill in like below

Make your own background. You can make two, one for Patch Menu and one for Bootscreen
ADVICE: As the Patch Menu has white text, make a dark background so it is easy to see the text.

Save your image as .BMP file format

Go on Qub and Click the 'Back' option in the panel on the side, this is where you change the Patch Menu Background.

Click 'Load Picture' and select the .BMP file you just made in Photoshop for patch menu.
Then click 'Save Picture'

Do the same for the 'RC2' Section but click 'Replace Current' there.

Now Click on the patches section.
Click 'Select All' then click 'Align Blocks'

Then click 'Create Patch_Block'

Then Save.

To apply this patch, read the Patch Guide.

you have to first:
know if that firmware is patched
secondly:
have a Qub profile for that FW

 i checked forum.sgh.ru.
there are no patches realised for this firmware, so u need to wait while someone port patches for this firmware, or flash into another firmware.
Don't forget to say thanks!

can you open and edit an already available .rc2's files boot screen
because what i understood from this tutorial is that you are basically creating a new .rc2 isn't it

You are correct, I think there was something in either tools section or C/C++ section for what you want
