what is this tutorial about? I'm here gonna show you how to easily create your preferred boot screen for your STAR with a simple way. The difference from just simply crop the image is that, here, we use the label from the original bootscreen.
before you continue read, click this button to hide the ads and widen the page view (see screenshot below)

this is the result as a preview of this tuts: before:

after:

?NOW, WE START TO CREATE? #1 download and install The GIMP (do not ask why don't I use Photoshop ) download The GIMP v2.6.10 or latest (about 19MB)
#2 save this image for your starter (you can crop or rescale from your preferred pics, just rescale to 240x400 pixel)

#3 open the starter image with The GIMP

#4 drag the original boot image to the canvas of opened window in The GIMP

now we have two layers image

#5 select the original boot image layer, navigate to menu Layer ? Mask ? Add Layer Mask... select Grayscale copy of layer then click Add

this is our draft result, we have to refine the label in next step

#6 click on mask image of original boot image layer (the right hand image)

navigate to menu Filters ? Blur ? Gaussian Blur... then set Blur Radius for both V and H to 1px (see screenshot), ?OK

#7 still on mask image of original boot image layer (the right hand image, see step #6) selected, now for final touch navigate to menu Filters ? Artistic ? Softglow... then enter the parameter (see screenshot)

you can play with the settings
#8 DONE.... download this image in BMP format, download here

now, save the result in Windows BMP Image format

TIPS: - to get the original boot image, you can use Resource Manager V5.5 to open the RC2 file then select Export in Start backgroung image (see screnshot)

- you can also edit the progress bar with this simple way: (in Resman) Extract ? [Open extracted image with Image Editor] (e.g. The GIMP) ? [edit] ? Save ? (in Resman) Browse but I won't show here keep the image's dimension as the original width and height
~@~ that's my tuts, like my previous mods, my mods style is "original STAR" happy mods
