Which firmware would you recommend for a UK model XEID3 or XXID1 - is there any difference in functionality?
Also has anyone tried the S8300XXID1 firmware to see if it also has the R66 software like S830NXXIC3 posted earlier?

S8300XEID3 is the latest floating around elsewhere.
S8300XEID3 includes route 66 aswell.

It isn't Route66, it's a java based app embedded for the Russian market, Route66 it's better, if you can pay for the license, of course 

sorry, i missed that post before i posted my question.

Hopefully they'll release an updated firmware with R66

XEID3 is newer, only difference is the language pack is a little different.

Just installed the XEID3 but there's a bug, i cannot write SMS in french (other languages work fine) when i set input langage french in the phone settings, then i cannot enter any text. If i try to use the virtual keybord then the phone freezes and reboot.
Can someone post the XXID1 ? so i can give it a try ? thx

 I havent seen that problem, your file could have become corrupt before flashing. Do a hard reset on the phone then Re-download the file, and re-flash the phone. That should fix it.

I tried that already, reflash, hard reset, nothing to do ! i still can't input text in french, that's weird 'cause that's the only language doing this. English, spanish, deutsh and eastern languages work fine... but since i'm french that's a bit annoying :-)
Just flashed the XXID1 and it's working, reflashed XEID3 jsut after and then not working again, so I guess I'm gonna have to stick with XXID1 until a newer firmware comes out.

That is unusual, I am going to look for another copy of XXID3 also. My copy could just be bad

- Not tested yet. (I am still downloading, it is extremely slow, now only 23% complete, once complete I will upload at Rapidshare)

also~~ does anyone have the generic HongKong firmware? because i dont know if anyone noticed, like the pixon firmware, the 3G feature is removed from the China firmware.

Attached here with rapidshare link for S8300DXID2, this firmware is having 3G feature, all phone in China market is removing the 3G function because China didn't provide the standard 3G signal as they don't want to sign and paid the license fees of 3G pattern.
