 No, there is a hardware compatibility problem with this new firmware even on the S8300. It may be possible to mod it to work though.....

had a quick look through the firmware .ffs but cant find any reference to the touchwiz. maybe its in one of the generic.bin files but cant see it named?

can you get the Chinese versions?? Chinese and English language would be nice.
I really want to see if the Chinese version supports korean fonts.

How do you check the current camera firmware version?

Oh oops the process is included at the bottom of the pdf file. Mine was 51.4b so I have updated to 51.4c

I assume you have access to this firmware as you are or have links to a repair centre?
If so are you able to report firmware issues officially back to Samsung so they can potentially get reviewed/fixed?

Camera firmware update is inteded for old hw samples only, like prototypes. I don't think mass production samples have the old firmware, I think they came already with the latest one. (at least it's true for the few ones I've seen so far)

Anyway, the differences are minimal, like time to shoot and save a photo and fine trimming, very difficult to see for a standard user.

 This firmware update is for the first 8,000 or so released phones, There are still a lot of them out that need to be upgraded. If your phone is one of them, there is nothing wrong with the phone, and dose not have to be updated. The phone and camera will function fine, they just made some small improvements.

really? I thought it was for the previous hw revision only - maybe in Russia they were the first to sell the product.. very interesting!
