In this firmware(XEIL1), Java peak memory set lower. Big java files(games, utils) which i played with last firmware are cannot run by the phone. Gives a Java error about memory. How can i set the memory limit?

There is a new feature in menu called Exchange ActiveSync. (for more info, check this thread http://darkforestgroup.com/forum/index.php?topic=1354.0)

There is bug fix for Wifi "Connection Lost" problem.

If you tap the "LOCK" button (side button) two times the phone light will turn off. (First tap locks the Touchscreen. Second tap turns the lights off). Small but cool improvement.

Samsung Mobile Browser version updated from v0.8 to v1.0 (Faster loading, better appearence)

Magnification(Zoom) limit is much higher for pictures and photos(NOT CAMERA, ONLY PICS). This is very cool, if you want, you can zoom photos to last pixel

Several bug fixes and few more improvement...

Note for everyone who dont know Russian, i deleted the russian wdigets, russian games and games with sms activation. If you want i can upload.

i have also installed the new firmware and found out that camera quality has improved a bit also widgets are new though russian but the ones like wallpaper selection 5 fav contcts etc are new and also Active sync (mystery yet)

@rajsumi143: Yes camera quality is also a lil' bit improved. But there was the fav contacts widget already in last FW. ActiveSync is for sync. contacts, mails, calendar, notes ...

ActiveSync settings for GMail:

Server URL: m.google.com
User name: <your gmail address>
Password: <your gmail password>
Domain: <blank>
Use SSL: On

Please read older posts before asking question. It support Slav and Balkan langs(Russian, Ukrainian, Hungarian, Estonian, Polish etc.) Also English, German, Italian, French.

hi people,
 Recently i bought Samsung star s5233w, in india, my phones firmware is S5233WDDIH2, does anybody know about this firmware and i want to know what are the improvements over my current version if i update the firmware to S5230WXEIL1, and also is there in difference between S5233w and S5230w Model.
And also please tell me about the things i need to upgrade and also about the guide to upgrade firmware.

S5230w and S5233w are the same phone, search the forum, most all info for S5230 will work for your handset. Use the same flash guide and multiloader.

Have you been able to solve that java memory issue? Is that the only problem you've found so far with this firmware?

1) Is this firmware the one you were waiting to leak? Or there'll be another one coming?

2) I know S5230W and S5233W are pretty much the same device, but I've read around here that you yourself and other people had trouble using S5230 firmware on S5233 for instance.. So isn't it possible to have any issues using S5230W firmware on S5233W too?
