i5801 touch sensitive button problem
« on: February 16, 2011, 05:41:38 AM »
Dear all,

I bought I5801 (galaxy 3) about 3 months ago, It was really good phone except (of course) for the battery, however, since 2 weeks ago, I'm facing problem with the touch sensitive button (back button) which seems doesn't sensitive anymore. It does not respond to the touch. This create huge problem since to reply message you have to go back one step to get reply menu. Sometimes it can be fixed by push lock button and back again to the system, but mostly not.

Does anyone facing this problem?? is there any simple solution, coz factory reset (and also hard reset by push Vol Up+Vol Down+Home button together with power button) doesn't seem solve the problem.

Best regards,

its basically just a lag with the system, mine normally works after a couple seconds.

factory reset does nothing really

Thanks for the reply,

however, I didn't notice any performance lag in the system, sometimes its work, but now its totally freeze. I have removed the screen cover, did hard reset (again and again either from internal menu or recovery method), drain the battery and also remove the battery from the device, still no luck. The light still there (for 3 seconds) if I push home button, still no responds from the soft key (back and menu keys). I hope this is not hardware failure but I think I have to return the device to the dealer to get the replacement.

best regards.

Problem found..

It is caused by the heat. As the battery heat goes up to ~29C (can be checked using *#*#4636#*#*) these two soft keys stop working (around 27-28C, just one of the key stop working, usually the menu key, more than >29C both stop working), but if the temperature is below 25C, both keys is normal. So, in my opinion this is hardware failure. Unfortunately I haven't had time to return the phone to the dealer.

Thanks for the help. Hope no one experiencing this problem.

not necessarily..... like any device that over heats, there is a chance of failure
