Today widget?

I'm studying at the university and it would be nice to have todays lectures and their location displayed on the home screen. Ive managed to sync my schedule with the built in calendar and all i want now is to display todays event on the home screen. 

Are there any widget that does this? Is it difficult to make?

dunno about the generic calander, but there is a wiget for the gmail calander that works well

Yes, I have this widget and it works fine after the initial setup.
