i8910 xxxig5 Version
« on: June 14, 2010, 04:59:05 AM »
HI, new to forum.  Have searched high and low (here and google) for anything about the G5 ware I have.  Is this current?  And the PC studio say phone is up to date.  Reading around i am guessing this is not the case.  Any suggestions?
Also, should bluetooth work for a mac?  I cant get them to pair.
(EDIT - Bluetooth issue fixed - bad operator error by me!
Cheers

Thanks.  I am guessing by this, that this is quite an old firmware setup?

Use the XXIL5, it contains the new Codec for the camera audio fix.

Thanks Darkforest and all the users here, but I am still hitting a hurdle.
Want to give the flash upgrade a try, BUT PC Studio will not play:

I have searched high and low and cant get a simple answer to what I hope is a simple problem. As a frustrated Mac user, I had to bring out the old windows lap top to fire up PC Studio for my I8910 Omnia HD. I am DESPERATE to get the calendar function up and running.

Installed PC studio all lovely, BUT get the error message when the phone is connected, The error message of "An unregistered model has been connected Communication cannot proceed".

OK, WTF? Paid phone, Paid software, working computers.

Stats: PC Studio 1.5.0

Phone (Via Crazy Johns) S/ware 1i8910DXIH1
Custom? i8910XSAIH1
Date: 10/0/09
P.S. BRAND NEW Phone (well out of the box this month!)

(If anyone know how to make the MAC talk to the phone, I will be MORE than pleased!)

Now, I am happy to try and update the firmware but PC Studio wont find the bloody phone! It knows it is there, as soon as I disconnect the cable, it asks for a phone to connect. (Laptop does not have bluetooth) Loving the phone, but getting a little frustrated!
Sorry to be a newbee with "help" queries, but hitting a wall here!

First thing is, this phone is a Symbian and you can not use NPS 1.5 with it. You must use PC Studio 7

Remove NPS then download and run this one:

Also have you tried Nova Media for MAC, may be worth a try? http://darkforestgroup.com/forum/index.php?topic=1310.0

You may need to reinstall it. Garmin came as a package from some providers but should still be a free download.

Yeah thanks for that DF.

I had a look around in the files on my sd card and found the install file again. Reinstalled, all good.

DF, the link for the PC Studio 7:  Seems to fail once downloaded.  First time it stopped at 60 odd % and then failed all together.  I am trying to see if from another mirror site with the program changes things.

(I am getting there - slowly, but getting there!)
