Memory Card Reading
« on: April 03, 2010, 07:31:28 AM »
Hi again,
Still trying to get to grips with my new HD, phew ! :crap:
I've installed a 16gb mem card. On this I've put some music albums and some themes for the HD. The music appears
in the music player but I can't seem to find the themes anywhere. I've tried to find an app on the phone to view whats on the mem card
but cant seem to find one. I put the themes in an images folder but when I open gallery they dont show. I guess I've put them in the
wrong folder. I took out the mem card and got a message on the phone saying unsafe to do this unless pressing remove card !!! Wheres this ?
So I guess I'm asking is there an app on the phone where you can see whats on a mem card? Media browser doesnt show the themes.
I know I can see them on PC Studio 7 is this the only way ?
Sorry for rambling on lol

Cheers  :drinks:

You are just not familiar with the Symbian OS  :agree: Do not install themes to the memory card. When you want to install the theme just drag it to Studio 7 and drop it. The phone will ask where do you want to install the theme. Select mass storage. (The internal mass memory on the phone but not the phone memory.) Do not install it to the phone mem or the memory card. Any thing you want to install is drag and drop to Studio 7. Do not put files on the memory card then try and install. Waist of time. This is not a Jet, so much less headache. Once you get the hang of it, you will love it. You are just trying too hard.

Cheers DF,

Everydays a school day :yahoo:
I did actually drag them onto Studio 7 but I didnt realise you had to install them
Have done so now and all good. Found the file explorer in Office so I can now see whats on each drive.

Thanks again, no doubt something else will crop up soon. So far phone is quite impressive.
