Ok this is now full story

What i did to change it from yours firmware to singapore dxdid1:

1. Change the phone to DXID1
Press the 'dial' key to the left of the optical pad to bring up the dialer
With the onscreen keypad input *#1546792*#
Select 'Preconfiguration'
Enter code *#81230*# and select OK
Select 'Singapore', with the default Operator
Accept this, DEVICE WILL HARD RESET

YOU HAVE TO DOWNLOAD CAB AND INSTALL IN YOUR OMNIA FIRST "PHM REGISTRY EDITOR" and
after this you do the step 2:HKCU is Hot Key Local User.

2. Change the version in the phone's registry (from current  to DXID1 - )

- upload regedit.exe to phone
- change HKCU\Control Panel\Version\CustomVersion from CURRENT to DXID1

3. Execute FIRMWARE UPDATE

4. Flash the phone using hex edited UPDATE.exe .

Just to report what happened with my attempt to update using the one described by Kronos. There is an option to 'Format internal large disk'. Make sure this option is unchecked cause with my attempt it resulted in a bricked phone which i've had to send in for boot repair.  I ended up with no logo, no red light, no charging, nothing, nada! After reading posts on other sites apparently other users also encountered the same problem. I think the latest USD has this option greyed out but now it has a new option called 'Download custom files' (or something like that cause i don't have the program open at the moment) and now I don't know what that option means. There exists also a program to disassemble/assemble the firmware, I believe its called Executor, which may allow an update without having to check you have the same firmware version, i.e. you should be able to update, for example, from a DX version to an XX version. So be careful guys and do a lot of reading. Boot repair on an Omnia is NOT cheap !
