you can find our firmware list HERE but DDJB1 is the latest firmware for indiathe latest firmware we recommend is CEJJ3, but doees not contain indian language support. goodluckÂÐÐ¥ © ™
Alright I finally flashed it with cejj3.. could not feel much difference..my touchscreen problem solved. Thanks to this forum n all the stickied posts about flash guides and firmware.. I missed the post about lack of dictionary in CEJJ3! realized it now only! Wish there is a workaround.. please let me know if there is some java dictionary app which I can load separately on my phone! Thanks,Ankur
I have just answered to your pm before checking the new posts - I could warn you that only the DD firmwares have the dictionary, but if everything works fine apart from the missing dictionary, you can keep this FW, and download an English-Hindi dictionary from this link. (I don't know if it works...)
Hey Stormchild thanks for your note. DD firmware was bugging me a lot...just in one day m able to feel tht CEJJ3 is much sturdier! I really wished there was a dictionary too..Anyways I am going to stick to CEJJ3.. and I need English-english dictionary (not eng-hindi), thanks for sharing the link though!I am unable to find any such dict that works on jet..In case you do plzz let me know..For now, my major problem is solved..Thanks again!
You're welcome!Sorry, here's an English only dictionary: http://www.umnet.com/download-software/14015-Collins_English_Dictionary, and another one: http://www.umnet.com/download-software/16201-Oxford_Dictionary_java; I hope at least one of them will suffice your needs! Theoretically both should work on the Jet, as they're native J2ME apps.
Thanks again for the effort, i had tried these links before too..the dictionaries do get installed and appear on apps list on phone but once I attempt to run the installed dict., a prompt comes as: "Java Error. Invalid format" I don't think any external java app work on this phone! :(
I don't have the possibility to check if it works (as I gave my Jet to my Mother almost half a year ago), but could you try the attached dictionary, if it works? The easiest method:1. upload the .JAR file to a wap upload site (for example to http://www.waphq.net/)2. open the resulting link in your phone's browser by entering it,3. install the app.Good luck!
Hey Thanks again for searching this out. Th attached dict. worked even witout uploading to the wap site. But to check it i tried bothways. The problem is that this one is more like wikictionary. SO one needs to be connected on internet to use this. It does not work as offline dictionary. Anyways, many thanks for your time.Ankur
