ok for the r800x CMDA LOCKED bootloaders, if you are having any issues regarding wifi or mass FC's this is how i fixed it.
After the initial install i had to go into CWM and reinstall it.
reboot phone
wipe data/factory
wipe cache
install Dark Forest again (be sure to uncheck the GSM apps and the System format)
once it finishes do not reboot
go back in CWM and wipe cache again
install wifi modules
reboot
you will get a few digital clock FC's at first and then your fine.

how do you  "install wifi modules"? isn't that kernel type stuff?

nevermind, ive answered my own question. i found this link on xda:

PLAY-CDMA-3.0.1.A.0.145-stock-modules_CWM.zip <-- thats the file. place that in the same place as the dark forest rom .zip and follow ricenlives directions. i can verify it does work on r800x, locked bootloader, rooted 2.3.3, as a matter of fact i got ZERO force closes when i did it.

HELP PLEASE!!!!

No matter what I do or how many times I do it, I follow all the instructions and make sure that all the GSM installation pieces are unchecked and on boot it stays locked on the Sony Ericsson screen.

The phone is the Xperia Play 800x CDMA with a locked bootloader (a Verizon phone).

I even followed ricenlives instructions to make sure to not have issues with WiFi and such, but still gets stuck on the Sony Ericsson screen.

I use the flashtool to put the stock 2.3.3 gb version on the phone. I user SuperOne Click to Root the phone. Download Clockworkmod and have to use CWM-install to get the phone to use recovery mode. Then I follow all the steps to put the Darkforest ROM on the phone and I end up here looking at a phone that won't get passed the Sony Ericsson screen.

Anyone that could help would be much appreciated. I've search all over the net for hours and hours and cannot find a solution and see that others have run into the same thing, even in this thread, but I don't see any solutions.
